Collaborative Language Planning Project – Second Meeting

Collaborative Language Planning Project (CLPP) is a collaborative efforts among language activists, language workers, and linguists in Tribal Colleges in Montana (USA) and the University of Montana. We have been working to develop this collaborative project for Indigenous language documentation and conservation, and this planning activity has been funded by the National Science Foundation’s Documenting Endangered Language (DEL) program and Tribal Colleges and Universities Project (TCUP) program. During the first year of the project period, we were able to confirm that there are great efforts on language revitalization happening at multiple levels in many of the Indigenous communities in Montana, USA. The second meeting will be held on May 23 ^rd and May 24 ^th in 2019. The agenda includes reports of the activities conducted from the previous year: language reclamation, a language survey, language activism, discussion on Class 7 (Indigenous language and culture teacher licensure in Montana), linguistic application, and the upcoming Institute, CoLang 2020.
