First Nations Spring Gathering “International Year of Indigenous Languages”

The annual First Nations Spring Gathering is attended by First Nation (Indigenous) librarians from the Province of Ontario. Currently, there are 47 public libraries in First Nation communities in Ontario. The annual Spring Gathering is a time to meet and discuss First Nation library initiatives and offer professional development opportunities. Each year, a planning committee selects the Spring Gathering theme, and the speaker sessions are planned accordingly. This year, the theme is “International Year of Indigenous Languages.”
