Souring Bunjil Music Festival

Souring Bunjil  – Is a Two Day Language and Songlines Festival celebrating the Year of the Worlds Indigenous Languages by focusing on VACL’s Aboriginal Language revival in Victoria through Song!

 The Festival, a two day cultural promotion and strengthening event, is the accumulation of regional forums with Aboriginal youth groups and communities, workshopping Language and Songlines and will invite attendance from Aboriginal youth performance arts and music groups across Victoria to contribute to the celebration and promotion of Victoria as Songlines and Ceremony Nations, learning Language and the connection to music – Songlines and cultural heritage.  The regional forums will also workshop the role of language in the telling our stories through music and dance, empowering our young Aboriginal children and young people, by reconnecting to Culture, Community and Country, developing performances for the Rise Up Festival at the end of the year
